WTA: Agnieszka Radwanska fell out of the Top 10. “The phenomenon is … – Polish Radio

This season Radwanska recorded weaker results than in recent years. Polka was eliminated in the fourth round of the Australian Open. The highest-ranking WTA events peeling in the third (Indian Wells and Madrid) or the fourth round (Miami). Recently resigned from participation in the tournament in Rome.
About the current situation and the reasons behind the Kraków drop in the ranking with Katarzyna Nowak – the first Pole in “40″ quotation WTA tennis commentator and now – spoke to Philip Jastrzebski:

FJ: worth at the beginning to say it is a kind of phenomenon, because three and a half years at the forefront, the first “ten” is a truly remarkable result.

KN: You need to get out of a positive outlook on the whole situation and congratulate Agnes that was in the top ten for a very long time. Analysing the first “fifty” ladies and gentlemen, various castling happen. Everyone has some weaker moments in such a long career. Take, for example Eugenie Bouchard, who can not actually win anything from this season. It is a Canadian, which came on a grand scale and was hailed as one who conquer the world, and she at the moment is totally lost and no crisis. Angelique Kerber also dropped out of the “tens”. Earlier, Carolina Woźniacka also fell, then was the way to rebuild. You can include phenomena – currently Serena Williams, Steffi Graf once or Monica Seles – but there are some units on the millions of players around the world.

FJ: Agnieszka Radwanska decline in ranking is due to the fact that refers weaker results than last year …

KN: It seems to me that the weaker results already started last year. Let us look not only for this season, which is a consequence of what began last year. This is not a short episode. Already last year, basically from Wimbledon they started to strange situations. The causes are many. I can guarantee that Agnes is doing all it can and that’s the best, but includes new tennis players, young, well-trained, tennis is constantly changing. There are plenty of different elements. You can now ask the question: how to Agnes deal with it doing? Is able to oppose or is it? To what extent must strengthen your workouts and even more work to maintain the position in the first “ten”, not to mention the “top five”. Agnes can make your great job and all her staff will help, but there are other, external, does not depend on the incentives that have a huge impact. Here arises another question: how Agnes is strong, so as not to lose faith in the fact that she can return to this suppose the “five” ranking.

FJ: Some experts believe that Agnieszka Radwanska if no longer depend on and that it is no longer the same, combative rider.

KN: Of course, that when it does not go, everyone is a bit different, but I’d just have not articulated by, because I do not believe that for Natalie such as Agnes, did not care.

FJ: This begs the question of cooperation with Martina Navratilova, as it turned out not very long. Is it something brought or the opposite?

KN: Perhaps the two ladies came to the conclusion that this cooperation does not make sense due to the fact that Navratilova can not devote more time than he devoted, and this is clearly not enough. In this regard they reached such a conclusion, earlier than the contract in force. If both parties so decided it should be respected. You should not now discuss who helped whom. It seems to me that Navratilova could not hurt. She could only Agnieszka something clever hint of which elements or other indications will be able to use.

Polka fell from 9th to 13th place. In the forefront unchanged – leading American Serena Williams, against Romanian Simona Halep and a Russian Maria Sharapova.
