World Cup cross country: Justyna Kowalczyk sixth in Falun, Johaug unsurpassed – Polish Radio


                             Norway’s Maiken Caspersen Falla won the sprint classic technique in the World Cup cross-country skiing in Stockholm.
                         

Among men, the best was Russian Nikita Kriukov. Justyna Kowalczyk was eliminated in the preliminaries, and Maciej Staręga in the quarterfinals.

Falla ahead of compatriot Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg and Swede Stina Nilsson. Krjukov ranked for the two Norwegians – Ola Vigen Hattestad and Petter Northug.

With the competition in the Swedish capital abandoned lead in the general classification Norwegians therese johaug and Martin Johnsrud Sundby.

The 25-year-old Falla won the ninth race of the World Cup in the individual competition. Last week triumphed in Drammen. Older by five years Krjukov fifth time in his career he stood on the highest step of the podium of the World Cup. Previously it did in December 2013. Both Falla and Krjukov all these successes odnosili in the sprint.

Kowalczyk took 34th place, and Staręga was 24.

sprints this season are not strong side Kowalczyk. Ward Alexander Wierietielnego last week in Drammen also not przebrnęła elimination, taking 48th place. On Thursday to advance to the quarter-final “30″ ran her 0.57 seconds.

After the competition in Stockholm skiers will remain in Sweden. The weekend awaits their rivalry in Falun.
