Hockey World Cup in Krakow. Eagles after the match with Hungary – Interia

We lost to Hungary in a dramatic 1-2 fight for promotion to the elite of the world of hockey, but the Polish national team did not bring shame to anyone, on the contrary! She played better than implied by the team recruited from poor league PHL.

Here are the voices of Poles gathered on the “hot” after the game with the “nephews”.

Aaron Chmielewski (striker) :

– Before the World Cup bronze medal in Division IA I would have received as something positive, but now I feel much wanting. So not much of a deal breaker for promotion, decided to detail.

Matthew Rompkowski (the most effective defender):

– At the beginning we played defensively, because I stepped in the every game. I always assumed that first we must carefully defend and attack later. Hungarians in the first third of the distance more shots entered the match well, and on top of us blocking well, closed the gang, do not let out of the third. Later, it was hard to turn around, this their advantage. In the third third we were able to equalize, but it was not enough, risked further attacks and got a goal into an empty net.

– Forces were not lacking in such matches count not only them, but also head attitude.

– You have to admit that the Hungarians are strong, they have experienced players and band playing for years in a strong league EBEL.

– Before the tournament with a third place would probably satisfied. Everyone knows the situation in which it is our hockey. We have a lot to catch up, especially in the training of young people.
