Eternally second, always a loser. Peter Sagan, the Slovak riding with Rafal Majka and Maciej Bodnar, finally achieved his big goal – winning. And how. Unnoticeable during the whole race, attacked in the last kilometers, like Michal Kwiatkowski, a year ago. Despite the fierce pursuit, a group of riders could only distribute among themselves the remaining places on the podium.
And so Australian Michael Matthews finished fastest of the group, so took home the silver medal, and Lithuanian ramūnas navardauskas stood on the podium of the World Cup in Richmond.
Michal Kwiatkowski he finished in eighth place. But this duel is just beginning. Sagan and Kwiatkowski are rivals since the juniors.
