27.09. Richmond (PAP) – Slovakian Peter Sagan won the American cycling Richmond rainbow jersey of world champion in the road race elite. Defending champion Michal Kwiatkowski finished in eighth place.

Sagan won the lone escape on the last two kilometers to yield at the finish line three seconds ahead of a group of 24 players. The silver medal won the Australian Michael Matthews and brown Litwin ramūnas navardauskas.
