The last episode is called for “step friendship” and riders traditionally been on him not attacking, fighting only stage win.

Third place Majka will thus offsetting the feat Zenon Jaskuła, which in 1993 also took third place in another of the big three race – the Tour de France.

In Saturday’s race the fastest was Spaniard Ruben Plaza (Lampre), Majka and took 12th place. He could not stand the pace of the previous leader – Tom Dumoulin (Giant). The Dutchman has long been the great revelation of this year. Great rode in the first week, and then on the demanding mountain stages did not incur large losses, though steep climbs are not his specialty. When on Wednesday won the individual time trial and regained the lead in the event, many claimed that wins the race.

On the penultimate stage, however, there were as many as four first category climbs. Dumoulin was only six seconds over Aru. Italy attacked for just over one kilometer before the end of the third grade. At this point, the Dutchman could start to say goodbye to the leader’s jersey.

Finally fell up to sixth position because dizzying pace of the riders having maintained an appetite for a place on the podium. In this group it was obviously Majka. Pole on the last climb fled together with Colombian Nairo Quintana (Movistar), over which the “GC” had a 31 sec advantage.

The Pole was going great and there was even a chance that it will advance to the second position. Ultimately, however, he was unable to overcome the total loss to Spaniard Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha), which now amounts to 12 seconds. From Aru in the whole race Majka is slower by 1.29.

In the shadow of the struggle for victory in the race great solo action He made a Plaza. The Spaniard with a group of refugees broke up when the finish line there was still more than 100 km. Eventually, he reached the finish line 1.07 minutes before the Portuguese Jose Goncalves (Caja Rural).
