1994 years, Kielce. Eliminations for the first ever European Championships. The Poles play a tricolor 23:19. Then surely no one imagined that the latter has so far White-Reds victory over the rival.

Already in the French rematch win by thirteen goals in the following years they became the undisputed hegemon of world handball. I usually won us without major problems; even if ultimately it is the Poles reach for medals. While great for us the World Cup in 2007, the only defeat outside this final, we experienced just the tri-color (22:31).

It was the same at the European Championships, but lost the last two matches: In 2010 and 2014 a very long time were aligned and Poles had their chances in them.

The best opportunity in recent years to win the French were the Olympic Games 2008. But the match ended the group stage, and charges Bogdan Wenta … not really wanted to win because then in the quarterfinals were sent Iceland. On the dance floor never for a moment appeared Slawomir Szmal and Marcin Lijewski, and White-Reds despite high carry – tied for 30:30. A few days later they lost and with Iceland and Beijing left without a medal.

Today in Krakow awaits us next start with the French. At stake are two points in the second phase of the European Championship. The winner will be very close to the place in the semifinals of the event, but it still retains loser chance to fight for medals. And perhaps the most important information: the next time Poland and France will be able to meet only in the final match of the tournament. So either the final or third-place match.
