ME handball players in 2016: Poland – Croatia. All hands on deck. All of Poland will play for the championship semi-final – Polish Radio

                             From 15 to 31 January 2016 in Poland, the European Championships are played handball. In the tournament there are 16 teams.
                         

This is the 12th tournament for the title of best team of the Old Continent. Title of weapons of France, who two years ago defeated in the final hosts of the tournament – Denmark. Third place in 2014 took Spain. They finished 6th place after losing to Iceland.

Euro 2016 handball is the first in the history of party Senior championships in handball organized in Poland. The European Handball Federation (EHF) in March 2011 set the timetable for selecting the organizer and the tournament. The initial interest in hosting the event to 17 May 2011 expressed five countries: Austria, Croatia, Norway, Poland and Sweden.

Upon completion of the EHF inspections to a vote during the XI Congress in Monaco June 23, 2012 were subject to the offer of Croatia , Norwegian and Polish. They received respectively 15, 4 and 27 votes, which meant that host the championship in the first round has been selected Poland. In two years the championship of the Old Continent will be held in turn in Croatia.

The organization of the championships were selected initially five halls. At the end of January 2014 years ZPRP (Poland Handball Federation) has officially confirmed that the matches will be held in Krakow and Wroclaw. In April 2014 years communicated that the meetings of the group stage will also take place in Katowice and Gdansk / Sopot.

The main round will qualify three teams from each group. Then the teams will be divided into group 1 (Krakow) and Group 2 (Wroclaw).
