Jerome Valcke was deprived FIFA general secretariat with immediate effect – said the International Federation of Football Association. His duties will be performed by Markus Kattner.
Valcke – one of the closest collaborators Swiss FIFA president Joseph Blatter, he was responsible for the preparation of the last two editions of the World Cup: South Africa and Brazil. The activist is suspected, among others, corruption in the distribution of tickets to these tournaments.
Last week, the FIFA Ethics Committee has requested a penalty of nine years in absolute disqualification and a hundred thousand Swiss francs fine for Valcke’a.
Secretary FIFA then also extended for another 45 days the punishment of suspension that in October 2015 he received together with Blatter and UEFA chief Michel Platini. The three were then 90 days excluded from the structures of world football.
The case remains in the shadow Valcke FIFA scandal, which involved law enforcement agencies in the United States and Switzerland. The offenses related to corruption and money laundering in total there are 41 activists accused.
