FIFA scandal: Michel Platini appeals to CAS – Onet.pl

Involved in the affair FIFA Michel Platini has filed a lawsuit to the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS). Disqualified for six years by the Board of Appeal of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and excluded from all activities of the football Frenchman requests a total cancellation of the penalty imposed on him and recognition as invalid all other decisions, both issued by the Ethics Committee and Appeal FIFA.

penalties for Platini and former FIFA president Sepp Blatter imposed in December 2015 in connection with the suspicious transfer of two million Swiss francs from FIFA on account of the first in 2011.

Both activists maintain that it was a reward for the work that Platini has done for the world federation a decade earlier, and the agreement was oral. Ethics Committee considered, however these translations for “unconvincing” and initially suspended two to eight years.

24 February 2016, the Commission FIFA Appeal reduced the periods of disqualification Platini and Blatter from eight to six years. It does not take into account the conclusions of both activists for the full cancellation penalty, but also of the ethics committee, which demanded a lifetime ban for both the 60-year-old Platini, as well as for almost 20 years older Blatter.

Against the former president of FIFA pending a proceeding in the Swiss prosecutor’s office. Platini is the witness.
